The United States is famous for big cities like New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and beautiful national parks like the Yellowstone, Yosemite and Grand Canyon. The country is so big that you would probably need a few weeks to see the most important things.
Most people decide to either explore the east or the west coast first. The east coast is famous for New York, Washington and Miami, Florida. In my opinion, the most important city to see on the east coast of the United States is New York. You have probably seen most of the sights in movies and tv shows before and it’s really exciting to see it in real life. If you travel to New York you can walk through Central Park, cross the Brooklyn Bridge, visit the Statue of Liberty, go up to the Empire State Building, explore Times Square, visit the American Museum of Natural History, go for a walk on the High Line, take the subway from the Grand Central Terminal, go up to the One World Trade Center and so much more. If you can, you should spend a whole week here.

Jumping to the other side of the country, the west coast, you will find the most popular spot for road tips. The reason why is that there are so many beautiful cities to visit and the easiest way to see all of them is by renting a car. Starting from the top you can visit cities like Seattle and Portland and combine the trip with hiking in lush green forests to see beautiful waterfalls and wildlife. Further down the coast you will see San Francisco where you can hop on a cable car to explore the city with countless sights, including Fisherman’s wharf with seals and the best irish coffee in the world. Driving down south you will find Los Angeles where you can go for a bike ride at Venice Beach, watch Skaters at the only skate park in the world that is right next to the beach, go on a ferris wheel at the Santa Monica Pier and drive up to the Hollywood sign.

Of course there are a lot more cities in the states than just the ones on the coast. For example, one of the cities I really enjoyed was Austin in Texas. The city has more live music than any other city in the whole country, countless comedy shows, great cafes to work from and a river that is filled with people kayaking, paddling and partying.
Apart from the cities the country has some of the most amazing national parks in the world. I’m sure you heard about the Yellowstone, Yosemite and Grand Canyon national parks. Again, there are a lot more national parks that are worth exploring like the Rocky Mountains, Joshua Tree, Death Valley, Everglades and Glacier National Park. A trip to the United States could be a few days or a few months long depending on how much you want to see.

Before we talk about the most important things to do we should talk about Hawaii, the most tropical state of the United States. Hawaii consists of eight islands with Oahu being the most popular one. On Oahu you will find Honolulu, the capital city of the state. I spent a whole week on Oahu and I wish I would have had more time. There is literally so much to see on this island that I think you should have at least a whole month to see all of the islands. On Oahu you will find several amazing beaches, the national park where they filmed Jurassic Park, reefs with turtles, great surf spots, Diamond Head (great hike on an old volcano) and waterfalls. You can do a tour on a sailing boat to see dolphins, go skydiving or join a helicopter tour, there’s no end to the adventure.

Below you will find different blog posts about the United States. The best time to travel depends on what you want to see. I think spring and autumn are really beautiful because it isn’t as hot or cold, perfect to explore the cities. Summer is beautiful in the north of the country and winter is fantastic in New York, because there are so many Christmas decorations.
